BBL 2025 Ratings

Below is a list of player ratings for the 2025/26 Big Bash League season, scaled from 0 to 100. These ratings are generated using a formula that combines four key custom metrics:

  • Batting Aggression

  • Batting Consistency

  • Run Restriction

  • Wicket-Taking Frequency

Each metric captures a different dimension of player impact with both bat and ball. While the model rewards players for consistent, high-quality performances, it also penalizes those who consistently underperform. For instance, the player with the lowest batting aggression value may not have the lowest strike rate, but could still be costing their team by maintaining a below-average strike rate across many deliveries.

Batting Aggression

Measures how quickly a player scores runs, similar to strike rate — but adjusted for the average strike rate in each match and the number of runs scored at that pace.

Batting Consistency

Reflects how reliably a player scores runs, similar to batting average — but accounts for the average batting conditions in each match and rewards sustained performance across multiple innings.

Run Restriction

Evaluates how effectively a bowler limits scoring, by comparing their economy rate to the match average — with additional credit for maintaining a low rate over a larger number of deliveries.

Wicket-Taking Frequency

Captures how regularly a bowler takes wickets, similar to bowling strike rate — but adjusted for match averages and weighted by the total number of wickets taken.
