We aim to provide cricket fans with a statistically sound, data-driven way to evaluate player performance and predict match outcomes. While we consider traditional metrics like strike rate, batting average, and economy rate, this model goes a step further and adjusts for match context. For example, a batter who maintains a high strike rate in low-scoring games is rated higher than one with similar stats in high-scoring matches. The model also rewards consistency: players performing well across multiple matches are rated higher than those with isolated standout games. Finally, for the overall ratings, the model considers which factors correlate best with team performance: taking wickets or restricting runs? Fast or consistent run-scoring?
